“On Air: Purity, Pollu­tion & Corrup­tion” (2024, 25 min.). The plot of this exper­i­mental sci-fi short film is partly based on ideas of the artist and occultist Marjorie Cameron (1922–1995).

The work is set in Paris in the year 2047 and revolves around a cult whose belief is grounded in the unwa­vering convic­tion that Jesus Christ had a secret twin sister. Count­less descen­dants are said to have come from the female Messiah—including Joan of Arc, who was burned as a witch and has since been rein­car­nated in various forms and is destined to lead the world to peace at a specific moment. Drawing on the life of the histor­ical Joan of Arc, the artist envi­sions a spec­u­la­tive, violent future in which she humor­ously explores the plau­si­bility and para-fictional expe­ri­ences of a female Messiah. “On Air: Purity, Pollu­tion & Corrup­tion” can be under­stood as an eco-femi­nist counter-narra­tive to the wide­spread pop-cultural stereo­types of witches and stands out with its extra­or­di­nary cine­matog­raphy, evoking the effect of a fever dream.
